Magicians
Our magicians come fully dressed to match a period event, with tricks and props in keeping - all wood, paper, glass and metal. Their tricks and illusions can be performed at the table, fully in the round and with cynical eyes peering over their shoulders - trying to catch us out. Be our guests, it's all part of the fun. Magic can work well during a drinks reception - if a guest looks a bit left out there is nothing much you can do as a musician, but with magic we can invite them to take a card, hold a rope, take on the 'Mousetrap of Doom' or whatever - then involve other guests as well so the ice is well and truly broken. What could have been a lonely and miserable time for someone feeling a bit left out soon becomes part of an enjoyable and fun day they will always remember. During a banquet, magic works well with performers interacting with smaller groups, to test the mood and respond accordingly. It is also one of the more versatile skills - a handy way to fill time or respond if an audience just wants to relax and chill out for a bit. There is no quicker way to really pee off a group than trying to make them participate in entertainment when they don't want to. Just because a group has spent hours rehearing a set of tunes and songs, that's no reason to inflict them on others. We've dumped an entire script 'on the hoof' before now, and turned a formal event into a series of gentle, fun and individual performances where a trio separated to each offer their own show in different parts of the room. It matched the mood perfectly, and the only other options would have been to pack up and go, or flog a dead horse. Naturally, all our magicians are also musicians, able to to provide a mix of of the two. You'll certainly get your money's worth! We can even provide a magician who is also a
fortune teller!
